Let’s Clear Things Up.

Career counseling with me is practical, insight-driven, and down-to-earth. We’ll get clear on your strengths, your values, and what isn’t working, then reframe the stories that keep you stuck and build an actionable plan for your next move. Whether you’re navigating a tough workplace, a promotion, or a total pivot, you’ll leave with real tools. I meet with clients in person at my Boise office near Ann Morrison Park and by video across Idaho.

If Sunday nights fill you with dread, you keep second-guessing your path, or you feel overwhelmed and underused at the same time, career counseling can help. It’s also a good fit if you’re facing a layoff, a job change, or imposter syndrome after a promotion. Many of my clients are capable Boise professionals who look successful on paper but feel stuck. You don’t need a crisis to start.

Yes. Career transitions and burnout are two of my specialties, and they often go hand in hand. I’ll help you sort out whether the job needs to change or the way you’re working does, set boundaries that protect your energy, and regain your motivation. Whether you’re changing roles in the Treasure Valley, starting something of your own, or getting through a demanding season, we’ll create a plan that aligns your work with your well-being.

My background is in academic advising, and my college had the best counseling program around. I was interested in human development and existentialism, which aligned perfectly with studying counseling. I cherished my instructors, and excelled at connecting with clients easily and quickly.

Yes. What you share in session stays between us. I follow HIPAA and my profession’s ethical codes to protect your privacy. The exceptions are limited: a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order. Your employer won’t know you’re in counseling unless you tell them, and my Boise office is in a quiet professional building with discreet, easy parking. Have questions? Just ask.

Coaching focuses on goals and action steps. Counseling does that too, but it can also address what’s getting in the way, like anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or self-doubt. As a licensed counselor, I can do both, so we can work on the plan and the patterns behind it.
-
It depends on what you’re facing. Some clients come in for a few focused sessions around a single decision. Others work with me for a few months through a bigger transition. We’ll check in regularly so you always know where things stand.

For video sessions, I’m in-network with a range of plans in Idaho, California, and Texas. Insurance generally covers counseling when work stress is affecting your mental health, but not career coaching on its own. Private pay is available for both. You can see the plans I accept on my insurance page.
