Idaho Online Counselor | Katharine Jamison, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Hi! I’m Katharine.
I’m a licensed clinical professional counselor in Boise. I’m licensed in Idaho, California, and Texas.
I work with capable, overwhelmed adults who want their lives under control so they can finally relax. My counseling style is empowering and grounded in humor, with a focus on helping you baby-step your way to a manageable life. You’ll build confidence and develop practical tools to tackle stress, anxiety, and life changes. If you’re looking for a counselor who will help you find strengths you didn’t know you had… you’re in the right place.
Online therapy in Idaho, from the comfort of your home
If you’re seeking online counseling via video anywhere in Idaho, telehealth lets you get the support you need… from a licensed Idaho counselor! The convenience and accessibility of video-based therapy has become increasingly appealing to people just like you who are seeking an outside party to talk to.
Online counseling lets you talk it out from home which eliminates long commute times and Boise traffic, and awkwardly sitting in a waiting room. This means you have greater privacy with online therapy.
What we can cover in video counseling
In video sessions, we can cover anxiety, depressive symptoms, personal and professional barriers and brainstorm a path forward that works for you. Telehealth provides a safe and effective platform for us to share, connect, and focus on what you want most and how you can get there.
Video sessions can help since you can be seen with more flexibility in scheduling. You’re able to self-schedule sessions at times that suit your busy Boise lifestyles and I’m here Monday through Friday 9am MST to 4pm MST
Boise is a busy city that’s growing daily and as the city continues to embrace technological advancements, mental health needs can go up, and it’s important for individuals to prioritize their well-being. Whether you're a busy professional, a stay-at-home parent, or a student juggling multiple responsibilities, online counseling offers a supportive and confidential space to explore personal growth and healing..
Telehealth Counseling Across Idaho
Because I’m licensed in Idaho, I can see you by secure video anywhere in the state, whether you live in Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Eagle, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Twin Falls, or Coeur d’Alene. Many clients choose online therapy when they’re short on time, live outside the Treasure Valley, or simply prefer the privacy of meeting from home.
Online sessions follow the same evidence-informed approach I use in the office, with practical tools for anxiety, panic, burnout, people-pleasing, and career stress. I’m also licensed in California and Texas, so telehealth counseling is available to adults in those states too.
Prepare for your online counseling session with these essentials:
Secure Internet Connection: Make sure you're connected to a reliable internet source for smooth video calls.
Device with Camera: Use a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera for visual communication.
Private Meeting Space: Find a quiet, interruption-free area for your session.
Audio Equipment: Use a headset, headphones with a mic, or air pods with a microphone for clear communication.
Fill out my brief intake, and if we decide to work together, we’ll talk about how to apply new ideas in day to day living. We’ll help you improve quality of life and ensure you reach your personal and professional goals!
Use Your Insurance
I accept a wide range of insurance plans for video sessions, across California, Idaho, and Texas, including:
Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Quest Behavioral Health (CA pending), UnitedHealthcare (including GEHA and Golden Rule), and Oscar (Optum) in Texas. I am also in-network with multiple Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, BCBS Massachusetts Virtual Network (TX), Federal Employee Program (ID), Regence BlueShield of Idaho (including Medicare Advantage), Regence BlueCross BlueShield (OR, UT, ID, WA), and Blue Cross of Idaho. In California, I work with plans such as Blue Shield of California (pending/active), L.A. Care, Sharp Health Plan, Sutter Health Plan, and Western Health Advantage. Additional Idaho-based plans include PacificSource, Mountain Health Co-op, and St. Luke’s Health Plan. Coverage and availability may vary slightly by state and plan.

Got Questions?
Let’s Clear Things Up.
-
Online counseling offers the same personalized, supportive approach as in-office sessions, from the comfort of your own space.
-
Telehealth works well for many common concerns, including anxiety, panic, burnout, people-pleasing, low self-worth, relationship stress, and major life changes. It’s a good fit if you’re in a time crunch and need to fit counseling into the workday. Telehealth is not appropriate if you’re actively suicidal.
-
The biggest difference is the setting, not the quality of care. Video sessions offer convenience and flexibility, while in-office visits provide a dedicated space away from everyday distractions. Both offer the opportunity for honest conversation, practical tools, and steady progress toward your goals.
-
My background is in academic advising, and my college had the best counseling program around. I was interested in human development and existentialism, which aligned perfectly with studying counseling. I cherished my instructors, and excelled at connecting with clients easily and quickly.

Yes! Absolutely. What we discuss in sessions stays between us. Your privacy is important, and I follow strict ethical guidelines to protect your information. There are a few exceptions, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law (e.g., court orders). But, unless one of these situations arises, you can trust that everything you share will remain private. If you ever have questions about confidentiality, feel free to ask, and I’ll be happy to discuss it further. Your safety and trust are my top priorities.
